SARL rF Series - Rules & Regulations
League Registration
Drivers must register for a user account on SARL-SLS before being able to sign-up for the SARL rF Series.
Drivers must use their real name and surname to register for the SARL rF Series(reflected in the "nick-in-sim" field) and use the same name and surname in their player profile.
Make sure you've checked the box that says E-mail notifications on the Edit Driver Data screen, otherwise you won't receive the official race email which contains the server password for each event.
No driver will be allowed entry into a league race without being registered for the series at the time when the official race email (which contains the server password for the race) was sent out.
Any driver found to be present on the server come race night, without being registered for the series, will be asked to leave or will be ejected from the server.
No registered driver is allowed to hand out the server password to a non-registered driver who didn't follow the correct registration process in time.

Bonus points:
- 1 point for pole position.
- 1 point for fastest lap.
No provisional points are awarded for the season. You have to start a race to score any points.
Points are still awarded for DNF (did not finish) positions according to the points table above, regardless of the reason for the DNF result.
Connection
rFactor does not allow a driver to re-enter a race when his connection has dropped.
If there is a consistent bad connection causing warp/lap experienced by the majority of the drivers, the event may be post-poned or called off.
For best results, set your in-game connection speed to ISDN.
Racing
i) Racing lines
Drivers should aim to keep at least 2 wheels on the tarmac racing surface (excluding rumble strips) at all times, unless explicit permission is given otherwise.
Drivers who overshoot a corner must NOT gain positions on drivers who properly made the corner, and must slow and wait to pull behind any cars that they may have passed while off the racetrack.
ii) Race chat
Autochat keys should be used to indicate intention to enter/exit the pitlane or to indicate that a car is damaged or having other problems.
Chatting(excluding admin instruction) is not allowed during the qualifying session and should be kept to an absolute minimum during the race as to not distract other competing drivers.
iii) Driver conduct
Drivers should operate as if they were driving a real race car, and had money invested as well as other driver's lives to think about when considering an action.
Cursing and/or insulting other drivers or administrators are strictly prohibited.
When involved in an incident with another driver, arguing about it right there and then is not allowed.
Instead, make sure you have saved the replay and then discuss the matter afterwards.
Bad conduct is taken very seriously and offending drivers will be dealt with accordingly.
iv) Passing
Backmarkers:
- UNLESS a lapped driver is involved in a RACE FOR POSITION he should give room to the leading drivers.
- Drivers whose cars are damaged, or are more than one lap down should allow leaders to get past as quickly and safely as possible.
- If a lapped driver finds that he is faster as a result of a different pit stop strategy (i.e. fresher tires), he may race the leaders to UNLAP himself only if he genuinely has the speed to successfully and safely do so.
Normal overtaking:
Passing safely and cleanly is the responsibility of the overtaking driver.
Continuous dive-bombing(attempting an unsafe late braking manuevre without having asserted position) will be penalised.
Drivers need to present good situational awareness in every situation, by knowing what is going on around them.
v) Blocking
A driver MAY NOT purposely drive all over the track in order block other drivers from passing.
Drivers are allowed to take a defensive (tight) line into a corner in order to DEFEND his position against a driver racing him for position.
vi) Pitting
It's good practise to signal your intentions to enter or exit the pits via the autochat messages.
When exiting pits stay off the racing line until you are up to speed and it's safe to rejoin.
League administration, protests and penalties
The admin will be the final authority on the track at all times.
The race admin may request that you retire from the race if you are involved in multiple incidents involving other competitors.
Anyone ignoring the instructions of an official admin, or undermining the authority of an admin may be subject to a penalty including points deductions, kicks, temporary or permanent bans in line with the SGS Rules of Engagement.
i) Protests
If you were involved in an incident during a league race which you'd like to report, please contact your race administrator with details of the incident (incl. lap number, parties involved and a short desciption).
All drivers are encouraged to save the race replay, in order to have the footage available for review when involved in an incident.
SARL administration will make use of the server replay to review incidents reported.
ii) Penalties
It would be impossible for SARL administration to go through the replay of each race, lap for lap, from each drivers viewpoint to look for any rule violations.
But whenever an incident in transgression of the rules is spotted, proper action will be taken.
Drivers are expected to take the rules seriously and conduct themselves professionally on track in order to create a clean and fair racing environment for all competitors.
